Benefits of matcha
Since the matcha tea leaf is enjoyed whole, you can enjoy all the ingredients it contains. These include, for example: B. Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2 and Vitamin B3 as well as Vitamin E, Vitamin C and Vitamin K, but also minerals such as calcium and potassium. Above all, the powder tea is rich in beta-carotene - the precursor to vitamin A, which is essential for the eyes, skin, mucous membranes and metabolism.
Particularly noteworthy are the secondary plant substances contained in matcha, which act as radical scavengers and keep harmful substances away from the body's cells.

What is Matcha?
Matcha (Japanese: 抹茶 [ma.tɕa] for "ground tea") is a green tea ground into powder that is used in the Japanese tea ceremony.
The manufacturing process is characteristic of Matcha as it is made from fully shaded tea leaves. The leaves are covered with fine nets about three to four weeks before harvest, which only allow about 90 percent of the light to pass through. This stimulates chlorophyll production, extends the ripening time and consequently increases quality.
After harvesting, the tea leaves are steamed, dried and broken. What is crucial is that the stems and leaf veins detach from the leaf tissue and are separated from each other by a draft.
Only the fine leaf tissue is used for matcha, which is traditionally ground in granite stone mills in Japan. In this way, the finest possible grain and an intense light green color can be guaranteed. It takes a full hour to produce around 30 grams of the powder.
What is a Matcha Latte?
A matcha latte is a drink made from matcha powder and milk (or a plant-based milk alternative). Here are the typical steps to make a matcha latte:
1. Matcha powder : One to two teaspoons of matcha powder are placed in a bowl or cup.
2. Warm water : A small portion of warm (but not boiling) water is added and stirred with a bamboo whisk (chasen) or a milk frother to form a smooth paste.
3. Milk : Hot or frothed milk is added. This can be cow's milk or any kind of plant-based milk such as oat milk.
4. Sweeteners : Optionally, sweeteners such as honey, agave syrup or sugar can be added.
The result is a creamy, slightly sweet drink with a rich green tea flavor and the health benefits of matcha, which is rich in antioxidants and other nutrients.
Is the matcha drink suitable for children?
Our matcha drinks contain matcha powder and therefore caffeine. That's why our cappuccinos are not suitable for children.

Where do the raw materials come from?
When sourcing raw materials, we pay particular attention to ensuring delivery routes are as short as possible. We prefer – if possible – regional products. However, due to seasonal fluctuations, this is not always possible, so we also source our raw materials from other EU countries. With exceptions, some ingredients also come from other countries.
