Recipe for about 8 rolls
Preparation time: 30 minutes
Rest time: 1 hour 30 minutes + 20 minutes
Baking time: 20 minutes per tray at 200 degrees circulating air
Ingredients:
400 g spelt flour (type 630)
100 g oat flakes
350 ml lukewarm organic oat drink and 1-2 tablespoons extra organic oat drink
1 packet of dry yeast
1.5 teaspoons of salt
Directions:
1. Remove about 1-2 tablespoons of the oatmeal and set aside.
2. Make a small well in the middle and add the remaining oat flakes, salt, honey and yeast.
3. Now prepare the organic oat drink according to the instructions on the packet (add 35 g to 350 ml of lukewarm water and mix well) and pour it into the bowl. Knead everything into a dough.
4. The dough will be a little sticky at first, but that's okay. Let the dough rise for 90 minutes or until it has doubled in size.
5. Now place the dough on a floured work surface and let it rest for another 20 minutes so that the dough is easier to work with, as it is still a bit sticky.
6. Divide the dough into 8 equal parts and shape them into witch hats.
7. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
8. Cut the spelt-oat rolls crosswise in the middle, spread them with oat milk and sprinkle them with the oat flakes that you set aside.
9. Bake each tray for about 20 minutes.
Tip: The rolls taste particularly delicious if they are frozen and then baked in the morning in a preheated oven at 140 degrees for 12 minutes. They will then be even crispier than if they were freshly made!
Happy Halloween!👻 🎃
